PGM (Platinum Group Metals) are mined in large amounts worldwide. Together with platinum, palladium and rhodium with an increasing amount of PGM recovered from the recycling process of automotive catalysts and jewelry, it amounts to a total of over 450 tons annually.

At its core, the catalytic converter contains significant amounts of PGM’s – platinum, palladium, and rhodium which are recoverable after the life of the converter.
